Valencia at your pleasure

Valencia is the third largest city in Spain after Madrid and Barcelona, with one million inhabitants.
Situated in the centre of the Spanish Mediterranean coast it is the centre of the corridor uniting North Africa to South East Europe.
A city rich with cultural monuments and museums added to its gentle climate, have made it a continual attraction for tourists. In the last few years Valencia has experienced an unimaginable growth. The construction of the “City of the Arts and Sciences”, museums, Opera houses and the “Oceanografic” by famed architects with “Calatrava” at the head, have changed the classic image of Valencia to one of a modern and pioneering city.

Internationally famous sporting events have based their headquarters in Valencia. The America Cup, the most famous round the world yacht race has held two of its finals in the capital. Today, as in Monte Carlo, Valencia has an urban Formula One circuit that attracts millions of followers to the area.

All this and more has converted the city into the inevitable destination for any trip to the Mediterranean.

Stroll through Valencia
and absorb the vibrancy of a city where prosperous historical tradition and interesting modern architecture stand side by side.

Ticket sales for the guided visit of the Bodegas Mendoza.

The Bodegas Enrique Mendoza, was founded in 1989 as a family business.  The project was conceived at the end of the 1970s when Enrique Mendoza started buying, collecting, and investing in wines as a hobby.

Later he followed one of the ancient traditions of the Marina Baixa area where wine was produced for the family’s consumption.  He planted his first 2,000 vines which over the last 25 years have transformed his Bodega in Alfas del Pi.    He now has 1.400 Casks of the best French and American oak, from where his wines are bottled.  His wines are highly valued in the domestic and international markets.  The area also has 4, 5 Hectares of Muscatel grape from Alexandria.

Visits are available from Tuesdays to Fridays at 10:00, 12:00, and 16:00 hours and on Saturdays at 10:00 and 12:00 with a 10-minute introduction.   For Group visits or visits on Sundays or Bank Holidays please contact us via e-mail at This email address is being protected from spambots. The second part of our visit is the wine tasting, which takes place in the garden, under a beautiful “Riu-Rau” typical of the area. Here you will have the chance to sample 7 of Bodega Mendoza’s best wines.

All this is also accompanied by a tasting-pairing of our extra virgin olive oil (EVOO), toasts with goats cheese, a selection of Spanish cold meat, in addition to a selected cheese table with Cerrón Cheeses, (Semi cured Sheeps cheese, semi cured goats cheese and Manchego cheese cured for 24 months).

altea-iglesiaTravel through valleys and mountains on the wine route.

Full day excursion.

What does the northern coast of the Costa Blanca have that makes people come back again and again?     The answer is the beauty of its contrasting scenery.
Altea is our first stop on the tour and is known as the White Lady of the Mediterranean. The area has inspired many artists to move here, in search of peace and inspiration and you can understand why.    The white houses, cobbled streets and blue domed Church of the old town, the smell of jasmine and the beauty of the coastline.  Perfect!
From Altea we travel to Polop and pay a visit to the “Museum of Miniatures”.  Our journey then takes us through the valley of the River Algar where we will stop to visit the “Algar Botanical Garden”, one of the largest gardens dedicated to the Kactus in the world.
The contrasting beauty of the Fountains of Algar, make it a natural paradise.   The water that forms this natural waterfall, tumbles over the rocks and cascades down from 25 meters.
Lunch is in Tárbena, a mountain village surrounded by three valleys.  The roads in this area are a challenge to the cyclists that come to train in the area and the Coll de Rates Mountain feared by all. In Tárbena, we recommend paella in a restaurant that is almost a museum, decorated in the spirit of communism; their specialty is an authentic meat paella.

After lunch, admire the spectacular views of the Jalon valley, from the Coll de Rates Mountain.  The perfect place for a photo shoot!

The Jalon Valley is famous for wine and what could be better than ending your day with a visit to the winery and the chance to taste some of the delicious local wines.
The excursion will commence after picking up from various points in Albir and Benidorm.
INCLUDED : Entrance to the Costa Magic Miniature Museum in Polop, the Cactus Garden, the Fountains of Algar, wine tasting in Jalon,  guide.  NOT INCLUDED:  Lunch in Tárbena (optional) and drinks.
