On September 13, as the sun sets over the Bay of Benidorm, the Meliá Villaitana Hotel will once again become the stage for a truly unique event: the II Green Sunset Villaitana Charity Run, a sporting and charitable event with all proceeds going to the Red Cross of Alicante.
Following the success of its first edition, the race returns with its distinctive format: a course entirely within the resort, weaving through the stunning Nicklaus Design golf courses. The route, technical yet accessible, starts at the practice range and finishes at hole 18, taking runners through gentle slopes and offering spectacular views of the Mediterranean and the hotel’s one-of-a-kind surroundings, designed to resemble a charming coastal village.
The event welcomes both runners and Nordic walking participants, all of whom will enjoy a course that blends seamlessly with nature and the resort’s Mediterranean-inspired architecture, combining landscape, leisure, and well-being.
But this event is more than just a race—it's a full experience. Participants can choose to stay at Meliá Villaitana, enjoying a setting designed for relaxation and comfort: sand-edged pools, a luxury spa, sports facilities, a fitness center, diverse culinary options, and even a children’s water park. This makes the event an ideal opportunity to combine physical activity, social engagement, and family leisure.
In short, the Green Sunset Villaitana Run is more than a sporting challenge—it's a holistic experience that brings together wellness, community, and a spectacular natural backdrop on the Costa Blanca.
